A DAY OF ADVENTURE..

Posted by soumiksdiary on August 30, 2006

“Adventure club..hip hip hurrayh!!”"IIFM..hip hup hurrayh”….still ringing to my ears. This was the shout by my friends in bus when we r returning fm Kairva Dam.It was one of the most memorable days in my life!A day of full adventure. To me adventure means doing undone things, seeing unseen things.Thats what i done today..climbing down wth rope or rappelling frm 120 ft(dnt think of  height of the Everest) at Kairva dam.

we startd our journey at 9am(forget about the frustrating delay of our official bus) nd reached there at 9.15am.This was my first visit at this place. But the difference was apparent. Then River was  in full of motion.the bank where we were sitteng last time was under water.Do u ever notice an Interesting thing about water tht it touch u irrespective of its flow when u sit beside it..whether its river or sea or lake.Once it touchs u then it goes down.

Now at Kairva dam,our giude team”JUNOON” an adventure organisation of Bhopal was  already present there.JUNOON is a group fo adventure lovers who keep coductng adventure tours.Their team leader is MR.YOG the LIVING MACHINE.So much enthusiasm.Unbelievable! They had already made the required arrangments. We have mainly four programmes.Rappelling,Treking thru forest,Mind Game nd Treasure Hunt.First was Rappelling. This is something absolutely nw to me.So initially i was bit nervous. Whan my turn came frankly speaking i was terrified, thnking about nt doing it.Bt somehw gather my couarge and did it.Though my jump was nt perfect nd i got a hit to the hill intially,bt rest portion of Rapping was smooth,And came down(wth life..thats why writting this blog na).Once i have completed that my heart was wanting more.bt the time was limited and we have to dio the other events.

After everybody had done rappling,we took lunch. Then we r ready fr trekng,fr this we have to cross a RIVER.”Adventure club..hip hip hurrayh!!”"IIFM..hip hup hurrayh”….still ringing to my ears. This was the shout by my friends in bus when we r returning fm Kairva Dam.It was one of the most memorable days in my life!A day of full adventure. To me adventure means doing undone things, seeing unseen things.Thats what i done today..climbing down wth rope or rappling frm 120 ft(dnt think of height of the Everest) at Kairva dam. we startd our journey at 9am(forget about the frustrating delay of our official bus) nd reached there at 9.15am.This was my second visit dere. But the difference was apparent. Then River was in full of motion.the bank where we were sitteng last time was under water.Do u ever notice an Interesting thing about water tht it touch u irrespective of its flow when u sit beside it..whether its river or sea or lake.Once it touchs u then it goes down. Then we trek thru a forest( nt like amazon). Mind game wth rope was also interesting .we have nt solved yet this problem. The googly by JUNOON team to ous was really commendable. Terasure hunt was exhaustive as well as fun.we r searching treasure in a forest.bt could nt get that. Our whole day fun was ended around 5.30.Again waiting fr the bus as our great bus driver lost us and was roaming the whole earth.bt all well as end well.finally it came and taken away our living body(due to too much exhaustness) to our hostel.

An Eventful week

Posted by soumiksdiary on August 22, 2006

Last week was very eventful week in IIFM. On Sunday we visited the Kairava Dam. It was wonderful experience. With morning bleez and soft sunshine the site was very charming. Then  we celebrated 59 th independence day on wednesday. Then next day we celebrated Janmasthami. celebration of Janmasthami was one of the best enjoyable moment in IIFM. lot of fun ,lot of masti. This the first sole non bengali festival  in my life. but believe me it was the most enjoyable moment in my life. We had “MATKA PHOR” celebration  ,basically it’s a tribute to lord
Krishna. A Matka  hangs from certain height and we had break it through making human chain vertically. we had competition with  seniors. we had the first chance, I was standing at the base (it was not fair to me , my friends should consider my body weight).so I have to bear lot of pain. Seniors were throwing water tremendously and we broke the human chain so many times and finally ended up not being able to break the MATKA.
Seniors did n got the first prizes from Sir P.K.Biswas. But the joy was far beyond the meager joy of win. I enjoyed a lot. Then we have a tug of war with seniors, again they beat us. These seniors really are both taller and stronger (and also have big heart…. they were defeated by us once in the tug of war ,giving consolation to us ).Again last Saturday we gave Thanks Giving Party to our seniors( as its tradition in IIFM, they gave us welcome party n we gave them Thanks Giving Party). It was organized in The SunCity (per haps in India  every city has a SunCity),situated at a beautiful place beside Bhopal –
Indore highway. Though the hall was very good but the space was so small, some feel disappointed initially. But when every one is masti mood then it takes few seconds to rid off their disappointments .Every one was rocking on the dance floor. I had  mission in this party which I missed in the welcome party. In previous party I had not taken food well for sake of dance, so this time I was in charge of food .I took mostly chicken making people confuse about veg and non veg foods (though it was not my fault solely).I do not know why this time dancing was very comfortable, don’t get tired any moments .The party ended at 12 a.m.I must say this time songs selection of the DJ was very good.
But the most disgusting moment of the party was THE SUTTA SONG (if any body have heard the songs then he can understand how much derogatory song  it is for the woman). Most astonishingly girls were also dancing in the songs n some were also singing the songs. I do not know what these Modern (?) girls feel. I wish I could have been more modern. The Sunday has showed what is waiting for me for the coming week .No sleep through the night coz I have to make BCDH assignment  ,Monday will be also a sucking day as I have to make MANAC assignment.(Raj Rishi Ghosh is really great man, illustration r given as home works).

IIFM IS VIBRATING…

Posted by soumiksdiary on August 15, 2006

All well that ends well..finally we have successfully performed our skit. With only 1 days preparation..1 day no its too much, hardly we use the “4″ of 24 hours to make our skit for the cultural programme on Independence Day celebration at evening in IIFM Mess.Grate thing is that nobody had forgotton their dialoges.

Today is the 60 th Independence  day celebration of our mother India. The day started with quick preparation for flag hosting programme as i got up lately.yesterday night we r very busy wth decoration of the room (no 119) where  the Director sppech was scheduled. In 119 we were decorating the room as well as preparing our skit n dialouges..in the next room the badminton tournaments(sports week cellebration of sports committee) matches were going on under the strict vigilance of Prof P.K.Biswas(this Man is really genious..got the winner prizes for badminton doubles and runner prizes for Table tennis and Sir was there from the first match to the lats match..hats of his enthusiasm). It was real  night out for us .This is B school life na.

So the flag hosting programme was over ,then come the real test, the Director’s speech(?)(short).Good to hear that the no of PFM seat is going to increase next year and new branches  like Environment management,Developmanagement are coming up.

The evening culural party sarted with solo song by Ravi(pfm student08)..next was our skit.I performed the role of a sleepy policeman(really good role for the right person).Response of the skit was ok..but i donot care as i donot believe in the results.i believe on the work only. The other progarmmes were another skit by MRM batch, solo dance by Manisha(again 08 batch student, really a very good dancer, very very good),song by sunil(08 batch student). Then as usual dinner.Again veg dinner..i wonder what if all freedom fighter were vegetarian?( can we able to celebrate our independence day ).Can anyone give me the answer.

The celebration is not over yet, from the movie club a special screening of the movie Lakhysa is organised by me and when im writting this blog i can hear the shouting of the vandemataram inside the movie room.Really IIFM is  vibrating.

Posted by soumiksdiary on August 15, 2006

Mid term is over..i have escaped the thaw n teeth of  mid term tiger marginally. But the hunting period is not over as results  are coming.Goodnews is that i have just passed QT n essentially save myself from confusion of UB.UB ’s score is not up to the mark what i expected..still its good.Hope to”confuse” mam in endterm. Most supprisingly i got good marks in silviculture(perhaps the third highest mark)..every body was asking whether i have written blogs in silvi paper or not as H.S.Gupta sir is famous for his paper counting skills. Now lets see what is waitng for me in EM and MANAC.Do i need to say anythng about FRE paper(suprisingly He has not given any True or False this time)..Now as far results are concrened our C.R. Kshitiz is leading from the front and also flying boys flag high( Sakshi,Shrestha,Priyanshika,Kanika were the top four girls in QT).Hats of to Kshitiz.

BLOG MANIA

Posted by soumiksdiary on August 1, 2006

“You can not be elected president of France without a blog”,said Benjamin Griveaux,a former finance minister and current perliament member who was the first politician who started blogging in 2004.
Yes this is the blog mania in france.in recent survey by Nielsen NetRating it is found that French blogger spent more than an hour in june visiting France’s top rated blog site ,far ahead of the 12 minitues spent by Americans doing the same and less than 3 min by Germans. 60% of French Internet users visited blog in May,ahead of UK with 40% and little more than a third in the US ,according to an Internet rating services.More than three million Internet users or more than 12% of those online in france ,have created a blog.It is assumed that this high rate of blogging(that is expressing their personal feeling on somethings) will reduce street protest as well as strikes…ARE INDIANS LISTENING?
